Joint Japan World Bank Graduate Scholarship Program offers its winners several advantages:
- Starting on the first day of study and lasting until completion of scholarship period, economy class air travel from your country of origin will connect to any university of your choosing in your study program and scholarship duration period. Students will also receive an allowance of US$ 500 for every travel trip they make during this scholarship program.
- Tuition costs and basic medical insurance provided through your graduate program should also be factored into this calculation.
- Student scholarship recipients typically receive a monthly allowance to cover living costs such as accommodations and food expenses as well as books; the exact amount depends upon where their study center is based.
- Note that scholarships provided by JJ/WBGSP cover either one semester of study (or two, whichever comes first) as defined by academic institutions and/or programs of study.
The JJ/WBGSP Scholarship does not cover:
- VISA Application Fees
- Costs incurred while supporting and/or transporting family members;
- Additional academic or professional courses that do not fulfill the minimum credits needed to receive a graduate diploma;
- Training of languages does not form part of graduate programs; Travel is in addition to studies; Research-related expenses and educational resources such as field trips, participation in seminars or workshop sessions, or internship opportunities exist, in addition to computers or other technology used as educational equipment.
The resident permit fee will also apply.
Joint Japan World Bank Graduate Scholarship Program 2024-2025 Eligibility Criteria:
To be considered for The Joint Japan World Bank Graduate Scholarship Program JJWBGSP, applicants must fulfill certain criteria: For JJWBGSP, these include meeting certain requirements:
- Language Requirement for Eligible Countries is English Country Eligible is All World Countries No Dual Citizenship should exist with any developed countries, and be in good health to qualify.
- At least three years must have passed between earning your undergraduate (or comparable) degree and making the application; unplug and three years’ work experience must have accrued since receiving said Bachelor (or an equivalent degree).
- Employed full-time or part-time in work related to development at the time of application submission; an exception may apply if applicant hails from one of the Fragile and Conflict States as listed in application guidelines for scholarship solicitations.
- Be accepted without conditions (within reason, such as funding requirements) into one of JJ/WBGSP’s most desirable master’s degree programs at universities located outside your home country and country of residence as listed when applications to scholarships open up; admission letters should also be uploaded along with your application submission.
- Do not hold an appointment as Executive Director, their alternate, staff member with any type of appointment at the World Bank Group, nor be related by adoption or blood to anyone in this list, with “close relatives” defined as mother or father; sister half-sister; brothers; half-brothers, son or daughter Uncle Aunt Nephew or Niece; Note that all eligibility requirements must be fulfilled without exceptions and criteria will remain consistent between application cycles but can change between completion of one cycle and its start anew.
