MOFA Fellowship 2025 Taiwan Benefits:
- Professors, associate professors, research fellows, or associate research fellows can receive up to NT$60,000 while assistant professors, assistant research fellows, or doctoral candidates receive half that amount (NT$50 for assistant professors/ assistant research fellows/ doctoral candidates).
- One round-trip economy class ticket should take the shortest possible path back home (MOFA will determine this subsidy amount by applicable rules).
- Fellowship conditions span 3-12 months.
- In case of accidents, insurance (and medical coverage if needed) up to an amount equaling one million New Taiwan dollars is included as coverage.
MOFA Fellowship 2025 Taiwan Eligibility Criteria:
- Associates from abroad, international professors and assistant professors postdoctoral researchers, doctoral and post-doctoral students of relevant departments at overseas universities as well as research fellows can all qualify to apply for MOFA Fellowship.
- Participants recommended by Taiwan foreign missions who focus on Taiwanese foreign relations or cross-strait ties are eligible to attend this program for at least three or twelve months to make themselves eligible.
- Researchers currently conducting research, teaching, or studying in Taiwan do not qualify to apply for MOFA fellowship in Taiwan.
- MOFA fellows cannot receive additional scholarships from Taiwanese public agencies or educational institutions while participating in the Taiwan Fellowship program, and part-time work without MOFA’s consent is strictly forbidden.
- All expenses that exceed those covered by their Fellowship will be met by the grantees themselves.

- The Republic of China Embassy or Representative Office will review your request, confirm its details, and assess your academic impact or influence before forwarding them to our committee of selection for consideration and participation selection. Once selected, our officials at the R.O.C (Taiwan) Embassy/Representative Office may give feedback that helps inform their selection decision process.
- Successful applicants will be notified via email, and fellows should then reach out to research organizations or universities located in Taiwan to secure permission to conduct their research projects.
- Once they receive an acceptance letter from the Taiwan Fellowship team, participants will then receive an official “Grant Authorization Letter”, acknowledging them as grantees. It is imperative to submit applications before the deadline for consideration.
